BassButterBaits was more than just a business idea—it was a calling. From my earliest memories, fishing was never just a hobby. It was a way of life, passed down from my father who taught me the rhythm of the water, the patience of the cast, and the respect for nature that true anglers hold dear. Growing up in the rural corners of South Georgia, the lakes, rivers, and ponds were my playground—and my classroom.
As I grew older, that love for fishing never faded. But I began to see something missing. I noticed a lack of diversity and representation in the local fishing community and a gap in high-quality, affordable gear that truly met the needs of everyday anglers. More importantly, I realized that many local bait options didn’t quite match the hatch—the natural forage of fish in specific areas. I started experimenting with making my own lures, custom-designed to reflect the unique ecosystems I fished in. Each lure was hand-poured, painted, and tested with care—not just to catch fish, but to respect the environment they came from.
That’s how BassButterBaits came to life. It wasn’t just about selling tackle—it was about crafting tools that made every cast more intentional, more personal, and more effective. Every bait we create is inspired by real conditions, real waters, and real anglers. It’s about matching the hatch, honoring the local environment, and giving fishermen a true edge on the water.
